About
This session will review advances in cerebral neuromodulation for PTSD, OCD, major depression, and obesity, highlighting target selection, stimulation strategies, biomarkers of response, and clinical outcomes. Leading clinicians and investigators will discuss translational evidence, ongoing trials, and practical considerations for integrating neuromodulation into multidisciplinary care.
Learning objectives
- Describe the rationale and key neural circuits targeted by cerebral neuromodulation for PTSD, OCD, depression, and obesity, and contrast target selection strategies (anatomical vs. network-guided).
- Evaluate current evidence for efficacy, safety, and patient selection criteria across these emerging indications, including biomarkers and outcome measures that predict response.
- Apply principles of precision neuromodulation—targeting, stimulation modality, and monitoring—to design multidisciplinary care pathways and clinical trial strategies for novel psychiatric and metabolic indications.
