Beginning September 1, 2026, the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS) will transition from an anniversary-based membership renewal model to a calendar-based renewal cycle. Under this new structure, all memberships will renew annually on a standardized September 1–August 31 membership year.

This change creates a simpler, more consistent renewal experience while improving membership planning, billing, and reporting. Most importantly, your membership benefits and access will continue without interruption throughout the transition.

To align memberships with the new renewal cycle, some members will receive a prorated invoice. This invoice covers only the additional time needed to transition your current membership to the standardized September 1 renewal date—you’ll pay only for that prorated period.

Throughout the transition, you’ll continue to enjoy all of your NANS member benefits, including educational resources, on-demand CME, discounted registration and member pricing, networking opportunities, International Neuromodulation Society (INS) access, and more.

We appreciate your support as we implement this improvement and look forward to providing a more streamlined membership experience for all NANS members.

Common Questions:

Why is NANS making this change?

Moving to a calendar-based renewal cycle creates a more consistent membership experience, simplifies renewals and billing, and improves membership planning and reporting.

Will my membership benefits be affected?

No. Your membership will remain active throughout the transition, and you’ll continue to receive all member benefits without interruption.

Why am I receiving a prorated invoice?

Some members will receive a prorated invoice to align their current membership with the new September 1 renewal cycle. You’ll only be charged for the portion of time needed to bridge your current membership term to the new standardized membership year.

What if I’ve already renewed my membership?

If you’ve already renewed your membership, you likely won’t need to take any additional action. If your account requires any adjustments related to the transition, the NANS Membership Team will contact you directly.

Will this affect my access to meetings, events, or member pricing?

No. You’ll continue to receive all member benefits, including discounted registration, member pricing, educational resources, networking opportunities, and participation in NANS programs and events.

Who can I contact if I have questions?

If you have questions about your membership status, renewal date, or invoice, please contact the NANS Membership Team at membership@nans.org or (773) 648-7845. We’re happy to help.
